is a web site designed to provide continuity of religious community for Unitarian Universalists and their friends while we are relocating, starting new jobs, finding new schools and generally feeling alone in a new city. We are all aware that UU's move as much as anyone else! Over the last eight years, I received a number of calls from my congregation asking if I would return a phone call from someone interested in moving into town. I wondered how many other calls were answered by staff or volunteers that did not know I was a REALTOR®. Recently, we watched as a number of our friends moved out of state and we realized that we did not have a UU REALTOR® to send them to in their new cities. So, we created the UU Referral Network, LLC and the Real Estate referral web site www.uurealty.com.

Do you have a wonderful relationship with your congregation, where you receive a regular stream of referral leads? GREAT! -- we are not interested in changing that relationship, just enhancing it. In fact, you may get more referrals through your congregation as a direct result of our raising the issue surrounding UU's relocating and needing professional Real Estate assistance. Our goal is to take care of UU's and their friends as they relocate. So often a UU will call the congregation close to the city they plan to relocate, only to get an answering machine saying that someone will get back to them in a few days. A few days go by and they receive a call back, but the person calling does not know anyone in Real Estate. The person offers to check around and call back. After a few more days they get a call saying they were not aware of any Real Estate Professionals in their church and the UU has to start over again. Melissa was surprised at the number of Ministers at UU Mid-Size Congregation Conference that were not knowledgeable about Real Estate professionals in their congregations.Referrals....
We hope to relieve the strain on both the relocating UU's and the congregations themselves! We encourage REALTORS to personally educate their own congregations giving information about UUREALTY.com as well as their own services. If calls come in to the office directly, the staff familiar with the REALTOR® will direct the caller to the REALTOR®, if they are a volunteer, then they are at least familiar to send them to the website and we will make sure that call is not lost! If the congregation has numerous Real Estate professionals and prefers not to refer at all so as not to play favorites, we will rotate the referrals so everyone gets in on the rotation.Together We Can Do More....
We plan on regular display and classified advertising in the UUWORLD magazine along with other relevant print mediums. The display advertising costs are such that individually few of us would be able to sustain those ads for very long. However together we can have an international presence! Our color display ad debuted on May 15, 2006, the issue following a brief classified ad. The original classified ad brought interest from over thirty REALTORS® across the Country and requests for services from Buyers and Seller. We have already helped a number of Buyers and a Seller get connected to a REALTOR that they would not have located otherwise. In one case, we were not able to locate a UU REALTOR yet in the area, so there is room to expand! Help us complete our national network -- Join Today!
